First Sales rep
Founder's passion is contagious
As early founders, right now, it's about wearing many hats in the business.
But there's one that's super important, and it's becoming the first sales rep.
As a founder, this is it. This is the primary job.
There's no way to delegate this out.
Because nobody can communicate that passion
That “why”
The reason behind building the product better than you…
For us, we are leading with Founder-led Sales
Using storytelling to inspire early adopters
And finding people who are willing to support us.
Seeing who resonates with our story and our product’s mission
We want to help ambitious professionals become:
“More productive day to day”
“More time for deep, meaningful work”
“More focus for strategic tasks”
“Feel less distracted”
“Feel less need to context switch”
I'm looking for early adopters who share this same mentality
So I began putting together the sales pipeline.
Once upon a time, I was a cold call salesperson.
I was calling the numbers, sending emails, and sending out letters.
Today, I'm going door to door virtually and literally
DM by DM
Email by Email
One conversation at a time
I'm knocking on those doors looking for an early adopter who gets it, who will provide us with feedback, become champions, and help shape our product.
We built a seed list of prospects, nurtured them, and created a waitlist of individuals who are interested, curious, or even skeptical.
And we're just trying to build this proof of demand till we can launch our MVP.
Right now, I'm a BDR, an account executive, a content writer, a marketer, and a GTM operator.
Trying to build out the entire sales operations from scratch.
Refining my messaging and targeting our key audience.
And so that we can expand, we can build out this sales channel.
This is a grind.
It's going to take a lot of patience and persistence for me
And a lot of NO’s.
But I always try to focus on the people who are giving me YES’s
You know, passion is contagious
Sharing what inspired us to build our product.
Talk about the challenges and the impact we hope to make.
And I firmly believe people buy from people, and I believe our authenticity will resonate.
